How to Use Salt Scrubs

Salt Scrub

Salt scrubs are amazing at exfoliating and rejuvenating the skin, stimulating lymph and nurturing our being. During the summer I tend to scrub my feet about once a week. It helps to keep them nourished through sandal season. Take about a 1/2 tablespoon of mixture and rub in circles and lines all over the foot and ankle, get between the toes too if you can. I pay special attention to the heel area where the wear seems greatest.

When I finish the scrub and rub part, I place that foot into a pan of warm water and let it soak while I scrub and rub the other. I do this on the edge of the tub with the container of water inside the tub, it helps keep the mess localized.

After the soaking I wrap the foot in a towel and just squeeze or pat the foot dry. Sweet dreams are sure to follow.

You can also rub the entire body and then take a nice soak in the tub or shower off. During the summer I tend to take fewer baths, so the feet only is a nice compromise for me.

If you don’t have any scrub, here’s a recipe to get you started…
